The Residential Tenancies (Healthy Homes Standards) Regulations 2019 became law on 1 July 2019. The terms outlined require all rental homes to address and fix issues with cold, damp, drainage and draughts in rental properties.  

The healthy homes standards aim to improve the quality for rental properties so that nearly 1.2 million New Zealanders that rent in New Zealand have warmer, dryer homes.

The healthy homes standards aim to close the quality gap between rental properties and owner-occupied homes, so the nearly 600,000 households that rent in New Zealand have warmer, dryer places to call home.

About Roger

Roger brings a huge amount of property experience to the team, having completed his plumbing apprenticeship. Additionally, he has ventured overseas to the UK and South Africa where he worked in a range of building and property-related roles. Eventually upon moving home to New Zealand, Roger has owned a kitchen design and build company, a benchtop business and has imported construction blocks for the local residential construction market. Furthermore Roger has also been a real estate agent for the last 26 years where he has dealt with hundreds of landlords and homeowners. Lastly, outside of work Roger has built his own homestead on his lifestyle block in East Auckland. Roger also has a passion for property having owned rental properties for the last 32 years.
